JUNCTION is a platform for Rotterdam-based artists and cultural workers to gather and share knowledge on anti-colonial research and artistic initiatives. Manifestations of this initiative consist of a series of artist interventions, research, and a digital platform for archiving and inclusive access. Our objectives are to bridge the gaps between Rotterdam’s grassroots communities/collectives, art institutions, and the general public when concerning the discourse on anti-colonialism reflective of Rotterdam’s discourse.

The organization is based on functioning from flat hierarchies, intersectional feminist thinking and DIY-isms. Following the examples of existing anti-racist/anti-colonial initiatives in Rotterdam, JUNCTION experiments with unfixedness and fluidity within the organizational structure. How do we build alternative work realities centred on building communities of care?
